Summer VISTA – Fundraising Associate (full-time 10 weeks)

Start date: 6/10/19     End date: 8/18/19

Architreasures is seeking a VISTA Fundraising Associate to support the coordination, promotion, implementation, and close out of the organization’s annual Jewels in July benefit event and  assist the implementation of a new organizational CRM system.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist event committee with solicitation of silent auction items previous donors

• Identify new businesses and organizations to solicit food and drink donations and silent auction items

• Work with staff and event committee to organize silent auction packages and develop descriptions to feature on Auctria platform

• Provide support with event logistics prior to and day of event, including coordination of deliveries, volunteers, and program presentations

• Complete acknowledgement and thank you letters for benefit supporters

• Work with Marketing and Communications Specialist to review historic sponsor and donor information from previous years and develop records in new CRM

• Collect data from Auctria for 2019 donor activities and migrate into CRM system

• Review records in CRM, e-marketing database, and social media to update data and ensure accuracy of donor information

• Complete reports using CRM tools as needed.

Qualifications

• HS graduate, must be 18 yrs+

• Interest and / or experience with special event planning and fundraisers

• Should be a dynamic go-getter, highly-organized, and detail-minded

• Works well independently and as a member of the benefit event committee

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Adept at Microsoft Office and social media (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

• Experience working with CRM systems or other database management tools, as well as knowledge of Photoshop or other graphic design tools strongly desired.

This position is a part of the Housing Action VISTA Network, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois. As such, the position will receive expert training, support, guidance, and networking opportunities, in addition to the traditional opportunities for AmeriCorps VISTA positions. AmeriCorps VISTASummer Associate positions receive a biweekly living allowance of $542.22 and the option of an end-of-service education award of $1,289 or a $345 cash stipend.
